Checking In and Out of Your Shift

Step-by-step guide for checking in and out of your shift.

GravyWork shifts use two types of check-in:

  • QR Check-In (when your app shows “Scan QR Code”)

  • Standard Check-In (when your app shows a regular “Check In” button)

Your job card will tell you which one applies.

✅ How to Check In

1. Find your Shift Supervisor

Always locate your supervisor before checking in.

2. Check-In Type

  • If your app says “Scan QR Code,” your supervisor will have the code ready (on their screen or a printed copy).

  • If your app shows a regular “Check In” button, simply check in normally once you’ve met with your supervisor.

📸 QR Check-In Instructions

  1. Open your job card in the GravyWork app
Scroll to Check-In Instructions and tap “Scan Check-In QR Code.”

  2. Scan Check-in QR code using your camera.
Your check-in time will record automatically.

  3. Scan the QR code from your supervisor’s screen or printed copy with your camera.

Once scanned, your check-in time will be recorded automatically.

⏰ How to Check-out

  1. When your shift ends, finalize your shift with your supervisor.

  2. Once approved to check-out, open the same job card.

  3. If your job is QR, tap “Scan Check-Out QR Code" or just tap Check-Out.

  4. Scan the QR code again from your supervisor.

  5. Enter any break time taken and submit your check out.

  6. Rate your job and provide any feedback.

This records your check-out time and completes your timesheet for that shift.

💵 After Your Shift

When you’ve finished your shift, it will appear under the Pending tab in your Earnings section of the app.

Once your timesheet is approved, it will move from Awaiting Pay to scheduled Pay Day. Once payday is here it will move under Payments.

💡 Tips for a Smooth Check-In

  • Arrive a few minutes early to find your supervisor.

  • If you have any technical issues, your supervisor can check you in or out manually.

  • They can also adjust your times if something didn’t record correctly.
